xAI has shipped agents with their own persistent cloud computers that work across existing tools, including those without an API.

## 1. xAI ships Grok Bot: agents with their own cloud computer and no API required to use your tools

xAI launched Grok Bot today: agents that each get their own computer in the cloud, sign into the tools and apps you already use, including ones with no clean API or MCP integration, and work end to end, returning only when something needs approval. Users message a Bot the way they'd message a coworker rather than configuring a workflow first, and a Bot can be shown a task once and asked to follow along, after which it saves the steps as a routine it runs on its own. Multiple Bots can run in parallel, message each other, and coordinate in a shared group chat, with one acting as a lead across specialists. Internally at xAI, teams built Bots for sales outbound, marketing, office operations, and bug reproduction and fixes, which is what xAI says drove the decision to ship it externally. It's in beta today for SuperGrok Heavy (xAI's own top subscription tier, around $300/month), Cursor Ultra ($200/month), and Cursor Teams Premium ($120/seat/month), meaning xAI's agent product is shipping through a widely used third-party coding IDE as well as its own surface. Enterprise customers go on a waitlist. A same-day Hacker News thread (30 points, 14 comments at about 30 minutes old) raised the expected concern about handing a Musk-owned company standing access to a company's tools and files; xAI's own post does not address data handling or sandboxing for Bot's tool access.

**Why it matters:** A frontier lab has shipped the "give the agent its own computer" pattern as a general-purpose product bundled into Cursor. If it works as described, the relevant change for harness builders is access to tools with no API or MCP endpoint, a different integration model from most current harnesses. xAI's announcement does not answer the data-access and sandboxing questions raised on Hacker News within the hour.
